It start from system in healthcare: they encourage parents to speak first 5 years and make sure you fit to normal world. And if your speak & listen is not match perfect standard, they will ask you to go to Deaf Community and learn Auslan.

Sometimes parents feel guilt or overwhelm or embarrassed. It not your parents fault. The system is broken.

Small steps with patience and love.

Doctor and Nurses said they think I don't need interpreter?

This is bad red flag. It will give you long term trauma and harm.

Health professionals learnt from university that deaf have hearing aids and cochlear implants, and assume they can lipread or write English fine and doesn't know you are using your sign language (Auslan or International Signs from other country and move to Australia).
